we’re in this together

we're in this together

The journey to officially start the website of Becoming happened one March afternoon earlier this year.  I was about 3 weeks postpartum with my youngest son and was trying to manage now being the mother of 3 little ones under the age of 3.

It was exhausting.

I was tired, emotional, and frazzled.  I felt frumpy and unsure how to ever even shower let alone clean my house.  The years of wanting children and dreaming of what it would be like looked nothing like the reality I was facing.  In my dreams it was cuddling babies and reading stories while dinner simmered on the stove.  In truth it was a dirty house, everyone still in their pajamas, lots of crying (their tears and mine), and a very cold oven.  (Thank goodness for pizza delivery!).

And on that emotional afternoon in March, I stood in my kitchen, with a crying baby on my hip, desperately calling my mom on the phone.  When she answered I broke down, “Mom, it’s so hard!  Why didn’t anyone tell me it would be this hard?  There should be a class or something to prepare women for motherhood and being a wife.”

Suddenly it hit me.  I needed to start a class, a website, a course, something to help women about to enter into these new roles in life.  And then I thought of Titus 2 where it talks about the older mothers of the church helping the younger and it dawned on me we are all in stages.  We all need a mentor, a mother, a teacher to help us.  And then it is our calling (per Titus 2) to pass down what we know to those coming after us.

Thus, after years of wanting to start a ministry specifically for women, I knew this is what it was to be…  A place called Becoming.  Where everyone is a teacher.  Where everyone is a student.  Where we are all in this together.

And so the journey begins and here are some ways to get involved….  It doesn’t matter if you are a student or a grandmother, I want you to get in on the movement!

  1. Join the Becoming by Blithe Facebook Group page here.  It’s a closed group (but don’t worry!  I will add you!) where we can join into community together.  It will be a forum where you can freely ask questions of things you want to understand and know, you can leave advice or tips, you can share recipes or ways to get out of the house quickly!  You can offer up prayers, post quotes, or leave links to music that encourages you.  It is OUR place to help each other learn and grow.  It is my goal to make it a safe and loving community.  And I will ensure that it continues that way.  Please invite your friends and family to join as well!
  2. Be a contributor for Becoming!  It’s not just Tammy’s blog.  It’s our place to learn and grow.  If you have an idea for me or a piece you’d like to share, please let me know and we will see if it fits!  You can email me at becomingbyblithe@gmail.com and we can go from there.  Prayerfully consider becoming involved.  Remember it’s specific to women coaching women on future roles.

Women are so quick to compare each other and even judge.  Let’s remember we are all in this together and when we help each other, us, our children, and even the world wins!

So excited to be on the journey with you!

Let’s get to know each other better!  Follow my Facebook and Instagram for more.

  1. It took me a long time to learn that “being” is a process sometimes we are to hard on our selves or feel guilty to often because we aren’t there yet! I older I should have learned by now how to BE victorious but God remembers my humanness my weaknesses and by His grace continues to walk with me while I’m working on all He knows I can Be!

    1. Such a great point Mom! Being is a process. We are always learning. Always be sanctified. Grace is amazing. {LOVE YOU!
