my summer favorites

Oh HEY!!!!!

It’s been a hot minute y’all.

Ten months of hot minutes to be exact.

BUT I am trying to get back into the blogging game and I decided instead of just trying to write inspirational posts I will be doing lifestyle posts.  So inspirational will still be there but throwing in other aspects of my life too: like my health journey, travel, or, like this post, things I am LOVING.

I thought I would start with some of my favorite summer things.  I won’t lie: summer is my least favorite season.  It’s hot.  And sweaty.  And the kids are bored.  And well, I probably will just be hovering over an air conditioner if you need me.

BUT, this summer I tried to make it more interesting for my kids (and me) by having things a bit more organized (activities, play dates, vacations, etc) and fun.

Anyways, here are some of things I am loving this season that are making my summer a bit more FUN!  Click on the BOLD title to see more:

Beautycounter Countersun Collection
About a year ago, I discovered Beautycounter and I am OBSESSED.  My skin has changed more than I can say.  I will get more into how much Beautycounter has helped me in another post, but for now, let me tell you about how much I love our Countersun collection.  This is a safer mineral sunscreen that is perfect for you and your family.  It comes in stick, lotion and spray (including in travel sizes perfect for your vacation!!).  Keep the stick in your purse for constantly available sun protection.  Here’s a trick – I layer my kids up.  I cover them in lotion, add the stick to their face, and then spray down everywhere for long-lasting protection.

Doterra Lavendar Touch
If for some reason you get a burn this summer, from the grill or even the sun, keep this Lavendar Touch essential oil from Doterra on hand!  It is already diluted for a safe application and it perfect to help soothe those little burns.  I keep this in my purse too and one in my kitchen.  It’s also great for bug bites!

Bamboo Handmade Handbag
So a few months ago, I spied one of these bags on a brand name site but it was well over $400 which just isn’t in my price range so I simply looked at it longingly.  The other day I found one on Amazon and I was worried the quality wouldn’t be great but for less than $40 I thought I would give it a go.  I got it in last week and I LOVE it.  It’s perfect!  It’s delicately made and wonderful quality.  It is SO cute and I paired it with a summer dress for a dinner I was going to.  It made the outfit.  I can’t say enough about it!

Pineapple “I’m Fine” iPhone Case
“Oh, I’m fine.  It’s totally fine.  I am JUST fine.”  The new expression of I’m Fine is running around lately – it’s the sarcastic way of saying things are okay when it’s really not. That’s why I am loving this iPhone rubber case.  It’s cute and super funny.  Because I am totally fine!

State Necklace Love
I just rolled in from Phoenix late last night after 48 hours in my home state.  It was WAY too long since I had been home.  I saw this necklace in a cafe while I was there and meant to buy it but I totally forgot!  I was glad to find it on Amazon because summer is kinda the time we head back home for a visit and the rest of the year we can show our state love around our necks.  All states are available!
Bright Summer Earrings from Plunder Designs
I got these earrings in a few weeks ago from Plunder unsure if I would love them or not because they kinda looked big and bright and well I am more conservative usually.  And guess what?  They are probably my new favorite!  They are SO cute and fun and bright and perfect for summer!!!

Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
Finallya little summer reading for you.  I am sure the majority of you have heard of or already purchased Girl, Wash Your Face but if you haven’t, go grab it RIGHT NOW.  This book is one of the best “self-help” books I’ve ever read.  Because it’s no nonsense.  It takes the lies you have believed about yourself (“no one will ever love me” or “I have to be thin to be accepted”, etc) and exposes it for what it is: LIES.  And takes away every excuse from stepping into what God has created you to be.  I downloaded it on Audible and listen in my car when I am driving around.  I have listened to it multiple times now.  It’s THAT good.

Okay, friends!  That’s it for now!  It feels good to write again. Happy to be back.

Note: I receive a small commission off of each item you purchase if you use the links!  Thanks for helping support my writing!  xoxo
