hormanl acne tips

I am doing something a bit different here on Becoming and launching into some beauty helps and tips.

I am NOT a beauty expert.  AT ALL.  Like at all.

But I do imagine Becoming to be like you and me having coffee and I sharing with you a few things that have worked for me or a product I tried that I loved.

So I guess the beauty series will be like that.  🙂

Here’s the deal about my skin:  It was beautiful till I was 16 and then went into horrible acne.  I struggled with it for years.  Then it cleared up with occasional breakouts when I was in my young 20-somethings.  But after 3 kids, back to back to back, my skin just went insane.  I blame it on hormones.  I find that even though my babies are now 2 and older, my stress and hormones still have me breaking out often.  And it’s SO annoying to be this age and dealing with breakouts.

BUT lately, I have been using a combo that seems to work for me!  My breakdowns have calmed down and even though I still have a few, it is SO much better than what it used to be.  Just a tiny bit of makeup covers it up (versus using hard core liquid foundation anymore).  SO here has been my formula that works for me:

hormal acne help1. Greens by It Works! –  I take the Greens first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.  You can mix in water, juice or your morning smoothie.  It works to help detox your system (and as an added bonus it gives you 8+ servings of fruits and veg).  It comes in tub form, easy to go packet form, or chewables (that taste like Starburst – just saying!). ($30-35 as a Loyal Customer)

2.  Frankincense Essential Oil by doTerra – This might be my favorite oil EVER.  I love it for its wide variety of uses including skincare.  It is fabulous for the skin.  I use 1 drop and mix it into my moisturizer every morning and every night.  I swear that this is game changer for me.  ($69.75 as a Wellness Advocate)

3. Soothe Moisture Replenishing Cream by Rodan + Fields – My skin is SO dry but breaks out so that makes for a rough combo.  If I use a heavy cream, I break out more.  If I use a lighter cream, it stays dry.  This Soothe cream is the only one that actually works for me.  It goes deep into my skin to hydrate and yet it protects my skin and doesn’t clog up my pores.  This is what I mix that one drop of Frankincense with… I seriously love the combo.  The whole Soothe line is wonderful but if you buy just one thing from R+F, I suggest this cream. ($48 as a Preferred Customer)

4.  Zendocrine Detoxification Complex by doTerra – I.  LOVE.  THIS.  STUFF.  I cannot tell you how much I love this stuff.  You take 1 tablet twice a day and it works to detoxify the liver, kidneys, lungs and skin.  It is working to mange the body’s exposure to toxic influencers.  I noticed a difference as soon as I added this to my daily regimen.  ($24.50 as a Wellness Advocate)

Of course, I am not a medical expert or wellness coach, but I just wanted to mention a few of the products that work well for me.  Obviously exercise and a healthy diet help too! 🙂

If you want any more information on any of the products listed, you can click on the link in their name or please let me know!  Here’s to healthy skin and keeping that hormonal acne at bay!
